The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, made a statement regarding the preparation of the state apparatus in view of the new wave of bad weather, which is expected from tonight.

As he pointed out, heavy rains and storms are expected in Evia, Sporades, Cyclades, Dodecanese and Crete, but also heavy snowfall in places in the mountains and semi-mountains of Greece. of Macedonia and Evia, in the highlands of Attica and in the semi-mountainous areas in the north of the prefecture, as well as in the highlands of Crete, while in the Aegean there will be gale-force winds of 8-9 Beaufort.

The Minister stated that Civil Protection base stations with staff and project machinery from EMODE, EMAK, the Armed Forces and the Regions in Martino, Malakasa, Afidnes, Vilia, Psachna, Mantoudi and Aliveri will be fully ready. For the regions of Central Greece, Attica and An. of Macedonia and Thrace, a RED CODE has been issued, in order for there to be full mobilization of personnel and project machinery.

In addition, ELAS will proceed with a traffic ban for heavy vehicles from tonight at 10 pm until tomorrow at 4 pm on the Athens-Lamia National Highway from Malgara to Kalyftaki and on the Old Elefsina-Thebes National Highway.

Mr. Kikilias advised all citizens to be particularly careful and follow the instructions of the authorities, while for Evia, which will receive, according to EMY, most of the bad weather, a message from 112 will be issued as a precaution this afternoon.
