161 pairs of license plates, 51 driving licenses and 27 driving licenses were removed, as well as 159 vehicles were impounded
The Attica Traffic Directorate plans and implements continuous operational actions to deal with and prevent dangerous road behaviors that lead to traffic accidents.
In this context, during the period from 31-12-2024 and 1-1-2025, 306 special traffic control teams were set up at key points of the road network of Attica, during which 2,802 traffic controls were carried out and a total of 702 infringements were confirmed, pending administrative fines, of which 40 entail additional criminal charges penalties (misdemeanors).
The following violations were confirmed in detail:
- -154- for driving under the influence of alcohol, -6- of which as a misdemeanor,
- -24- for excessive speed
- -18- for not using a protective helmet
- -9- for deprivation of a Technical Inspection Certificate
- -9- for a red light violation
- -5- for uninsured vehicles
- -3- for mobile phone use
- -2- for not using a seat belt
- -244- illegal parking violations
- -39- for violations of obstructing the passage of disabled persons
- -195- other traffic violations
In addition, 161 pairs of license plates, 51 driver’s licenses and 27 driving licenses were removed, as well as 159 vehicles were immobilized and 27 of them were craned.
Finally, it should be noted that two drivers refused to submit to a breathalyzer test and another driver was found to be driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The above drivers, with the files filed against them, were brought to the competent prosecution authorities as part of the self-indictment.
