The Archbishop of Albania Anastasios, who is being transported from Tirana to Athens by an Air Force aircraft, will be treated at the “Evangelismos” hospital.
According to information, Archbishop Anastasios will be hospitalized in a simple ward.
Archbishop Anastasios, who is 95 years old, has been hospitalized due to seasonal influenza since December 31, as the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania announced in an official announcement.
In particular, the announcement states that “His Beatitude, the Archbishop of Albania Mr. Anastasios, was admitted to the hospital due to the appearance of a seasonal viral infection, in order to be under the supervision of doctors. His state of health is absolutely stable and the doctors taking care of him are optimistic.”
According to the latest update, a doctor and two rescuers of the EKAV are accompanying the Archbishop of Albania, who is hemodynamically stable to fly and is not intubated.
Earlier it had become known from the Ministry of National Defense that the Armed Forces have made available, at the request of EKAV, a C-27J aircraft for the airlift of the Archbishop of Albania Mr. Mr. Anastasios from Tirana to Athens.
