As Ms. Evangelia Ioannidou revealed on the camera of “Where Greece is”, the new show of SKAI, with Evlampia Revis and George Kourdis, “we don’t get allowance for many children anymore because we are considered high earners.”

Ms. Ioannidou and her husband, civil servants for over 18 years, received an increase in their salaries. Thus, they exceeded the income criterion by 1,000 euros, as a result of which the allowance for large children of 2,800 euros they received was “cut”.

And as stated by Ms. Ioannidou “We are not the only family. There are at least 3 families in the area who have 4 or 5 children who also had their allowance cut.”

“Let them not put economic criteria, let them do something else” we hear her say, adding: “it’s not just the financial, it’s the moral reward.”

And projecting the abandonment he feels, he goes on to say: “No one deals with critical areas. When he doesn’t have school, he doesn’t have children, he doesn’t have tutoring, when he doesn’t have activities, when the other person doesn’t have a job…”

Characteristic of the situation that prevails in the sandy Ormenio is the playground that has been closed for two months. “Why should it be controlled by the municipality.”

Children are working hard

Speaking to the camera of “Where Greece is”, Mrs. Ioannidou said that the whole village is like a family. The children, however, struggle a lot. And he brought as an example an incident last year where the director of the Lyceum raised the possibility of closing the examination center of the Lyceum of Law for the Panhellenic girls, which would mean that the children would have to be transferred every day to an examination center in Orestiada, in a distance 45 km…
