EFET proceeded with three product recalls in one day. The first is a chocolate bar from a well-known supermarket, while the other two concern a chicken burger and a chicken fillet, in which salmonella was found.
Worms found in chocolate
Specifically, E.F.E.T. and in particular the Regional Directorate of Western Greece, in the context of investigating a complaint, confirmed the presence of larvae – worms in the product “VEGAN CHOCOLATE WITH HAZELNUTS, VEMONDO”.
Specifically, it is the product “VEGAN CHOCOLATE WITH HAZELNUTS, VEMONDO” in a package of 180gr, with batch number L 34161a and date of consumption preferably, before 15.04.25 which is sold by the Lidl Hellas Company.
E.F.E.T. demanded the immediate recall of the specific batch of the product and are already in progress relevant controls.
The company Lidl Hellas has already posted on its website the relevant consumer information. Consumers who have purchased the above product (the illustration of which is shown below) are requested not to consume it.
Chicken burger recalled
At the same time, E.F.E.T. and in particular the Regional Directorate of Peloponnese, during inspections in the framework of the Program “Official inspection for the monitoring of microbiological food safety criteria for the year 2024”, sampled food with the following information: “FROZEN CHICKEN BUGGER”, with production date: 22.11.2024 and use-by date 22.11.2025, produced by the company “KOTOPOULA NAFPAKTOU – KONTOCHRISTOS” and in collaboration with the Athens Food Testing & Research Laboratory of EFET, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella spp.
E.F.E.T. demanded the immediate recall / withdrawal of the whole of the specific batch of the above product while the relevant controls are in progress. Consumers who have already purchased the above product are requested not to consume it.
Chicken fillet is also being recalled
Finally, E.F.E.T. and in particular the Regional Directorate of Peloponnese, while carrying out checks in the framework of the Program “Official control for the monitoring of microbiological food safety criteria”, sampled food with the following data: “FROZEN CHICKEN FILLET“, with production date: 30.10.2024 and consumption date 30.10.2025, produced by the company “NAFPAKTO CHICKEN – KONTOCHRISTOS” and in collaboration with the Athens Food Testing & Research Laboratory of EFET, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism was established Salmonella spp.
E.F.E.T. demanded the immediate recall / withdrawal of the whole of the specific batch of the above product while the relevant controls are in progress. Consumers who have already purchased the above product (photo below) are asked not to consume it.
