Find out where to try French, American and even Korean-inspired brunch in SP

Brunch has become so popular in the capital of São Paulo that cafes, bakeries and restaurants have invested in creating their own.

To vary your meal a little, you can find combos with typical recipes from other cuisines, such as French, Japanese, American and Korean. Some houses also focus on flavors from different regions of Brazil. Know where to try it.

AMERICAN

DCK Burger

The burger restaurant is inspired by the United States in its brunch, served on weekends. There are orders such as waffles with bacon or sausage on the grill, scrambled eggs with maple syrup and butter (R$ 39), pancakes with butter and maple syrup (R$ 22) and waffles like the one topped with Nutella, strawberries and whipped cream (R$ 38 ).

Z Deli

On weekends, the Centro unit offers American-style breakfast and brunch. There are sandwiches, toasts, eggs and recipes such as mac & cheese (R$38), creamy macaroni with cheese sauce baked in the oven with gremolata and parmesan, and pancakes with blueberries, butter, whipped cream, strawberries and maple syrup (R$45) . Brewed coffee costs R$13 with refills, served at the table like in Hollywood movies.

BRAZILIAN

Beautiful

The restaurant imported from Minas Gerais offers typical delicacies from the state for breakfast. The combo is just that! (R$ 62) has a basket of cheese breads with pan meat, shaved curd chips, cream cheese, cornmeal bread with cheese, guava paste and dulce de leche with cumaru.

Casa Rios

On Sundays, chef Rodrigo Aguiar serves brunch with ingredients from different regions of the country, coming from small producers. The menu costs R$119 and changes every 15 days. The current one features stages such as Brazil nut cream with fruit, honey and chestnut salad, and smoked chicken pastry with house-made cream cheese and sugarcane juice.

Nica Café

Offers a brunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays, for R$150, set up on the terrace. It serves bread, quiches, tapioca and other items, but the special touch is recipes from Recife. Among them, roll cake with guava and sour cream and top hat, sweet with plated banana and baked butter cheese, finished with cinnamon and sugar.

News

On Sundays, chef Onildo Rocha serves brunch in his Brazilian kitchen at the top of the Light shopping mall, made with ingredients from different regions of the country. For R$ 139, a board of Brazilian cheeses, breads, including corn brioche and cheese bread with cheese from the Serra da Canastra, cake and seasonal fruit arrive at the table. It includes drinks and you can also order extras from the à la carte menu.

Padoca do Jaca

The Jacarandá restaurant has its own bakery, at the same address, which serves brunch inspired by different regions of Brazil. One of the three combo options is the colonial coffee (R$ 99), which includes country bread, cheese bread, free-range eggs scrambled with cream, Quina cheese, smoked cottage cheese, Royale ham, lemon juice, cake, yogurt , homemade granola, fruits and honey.

KOREAN

Komah Bakery

The cafeteria at the Korean restaurant Komah offers à la carte delicacies and drinks and three brunch combos. One of them, for R$69, includes fruit, yogurt with granola and yuja compote (Asian citrus fruit), juice of the day, brewed coffee and an item from the boulangerie, which could be garlic bread stuffed with cream cheese, roasted garlic , cheese and butter with nirá, a type of chive.

D’Macarons

Served all day long, the brunch costs R$129 and includes items such as macarons – there are around 30 flavors –, croque monsieur or madame, cannelé, apple chausson, madeleine and drinks.

Les Deux Magots

The São Paulo branch of the traditional Paris café offers a closed brunch on weekends. For R$116, it lists scrambled eggs, Basque salad, assorted breads, puff pastry with butter, French cheeses such as comté and sweet of the day, among other items. To drink, there is coffee and orange juice, but you can include a glass of sparkling wine for an additional R$35. During the week, there is an à la carte menu.

Petit Petit

Led by chef Bruna Leite, the French restaurant has brunch with à la carte orders and combos, such as the one with croissant accompanied by butter and jam, French omelet, fruit with granola and cream and coffee or juice, for R$68.

Rendez-Vous

The French cuisine restaurant has brunch every day. There are four combos, such as Pinheiros (R$65), which combines croque monsieur —French sandwich with ham and cheese—, chocolate cookie, fruit salad with granola and yogurt, orange juice and espresso. Another suggestion, for the same price, includes eggs benedict and croissant.

ENGLISH

EAP Café

It offers brunch from different regions of the world, such as Germany and France. The English-inspired combo, for R$55, includes bacon, sausage, fried egg, roasted tomato, sautéed mushrooms and muffins.

ITALIAN

Antonietta Cucina

The Italian restaurant has recently opened at a new location and now serves brunch on the weekends. Called colazione, it costs R$156 and comes with creamy eggs with black truffle, brioche with artisanal basil sorbet, Parma ham, fruit, sparkling wine or Limoncello Spritz, coffee and orange juice. A reduced version costs R$98. There are also à la carte items, such as burrata and arancini.

Coliseum

Dedicated to panini, the location has a brunch menu from 9am to 12pm. Typical breakfast dishes gain Italian touches, such as the scrambled egg, which is made with carbonara cream, crispy pancetta and croutons (R$30). The hot mix is ​​prepared with prosciutto crudo, mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and cherry tomatoes, for R$27.

Casa Hario

The Japanese brand Hario’s café offers a four-course brunch on Sundays, for R$178. The customer chooses the items, which can be cheese bread with nori seaweed, koroke (a type of fried dumpling) stuffed with salmon or yakissoba. Coffee and juice are included. On other days, you can order individual savory and sweet breakfast treats.

Mori Chazeria

Once a month, tea specialist Paty Akemi welcomes customers for a typical Japanese breakfast. Called asagohan, it consists of dishes such as miso soup, sweet omelet, vegetable stew, trio of desserts and tea. The next edition is on January 26th, for R$129.90.

Kez

Specializing in bagel sandwiches, the bakery offers recipes inspired by Jewish cuisine. At brunch on weekends, orders such as latkes (grated potato pancakes) topped with smoked salmon, poached egg and hollandaise sauce are available, for R$55.
