Pistachio festival and special dishes for SP’s birthday are gastronomic tips

In the week of São Paulo’s 471st birthday, several restaurants prepare special recipes to celebrate the date. This weekend, one of the trendiest ingredients, pistachios, has a festival dedicated to it. See gastronomic tours below.

Bottega Bernacca

Ibirapuera Park gained a new restaurant, located in an area close to gate 5. The space gained a lounge on a wooden deck with a balcony for lunch or dinner amidst the trees. The menu will follow the model of the Italian restaurant with four other units in the city, with emphasis on al dente and fresh dry pasta. Among them, the flagship is the spaghetti cacio e pepe with lemon and bottarga —mullet roe—, which costs R$99.

Natural Bakery Shed

In honor of São Paulo’s birthday, the artisanal bakery serves a sandwich filled with Porco Real mortadella — a brand owned by chefs Jefferson Rueda and Janaina Torres —, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes and pesto sauce on ciabatta bread. The new product costs R$39.90.

Location Caffe

The restaurant offers a special brunch on the city’s anniversary. For R$145, the meal includes fresh oysters paired with drinks, such as a negroni and Aperol spritz, plus scrambled eggs, fruit salad, tostadas and cannoli.

Name

With signature cuisine, the restaurant in Vila Madalena celebrates two years. The duo Nando Carneiro and Paty Werneck prepare a party with nostalgic recipes with a chef’s touch. Suggestions include Northeastern cheese balls, cashew mole, pork lollipop, popcorn cotton candy and octopus hot dog.

The Door Hideout

The recently opened speakeasy-style bar expands its mocktail menu, non-alcoholic cocktails. The letter, available until the end of the month, brings seven new features. Among them, the so-called passage of love (R$40) is made with apricot cordial, lychee, black tea, strawberry and raspberry.

Veridiana

On the 25th, the pizzeria launches two recipes with a classic São Paulo ingredient, mortadella. She fills a panini that also includes stracciatella, arugula, pistachios and balsamic vinegar in the pizza dough (R$ 62), and a pizza with ricotta cream, pistachios and lemon olive oil (R$ 129 for a large; R$ 84 the small one). Both are available for one month.

Chef Luiz Filipe Souza welcomes Floriano Pellegrino, chef at Bro’s, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Italy. The duo prepares a ten-course dinner, for R$800, with Italian roots.

Pistachio Festival

The popular ingredient serves as the basis for sweet and savory dishes at the gastronomic event taking place this weekend. You can find pastries, coxinha, meringue, olive oil, cake, pie, brigadeiro, ice cream, beer and even cosmetics made with pistachios. The program also includes an art, fashion and decoration fair and nightclubs.
