A special insurance category for young freelancers, with lower contributions, has also been introduced for the first five years of insurance.
As is well known, the option of selecting an insurance category is renewed annually, and, in the event of a non -submission of an insurance policy, the ranking of the previous year remains active.
]Under the law, the contributions of the insurance categories of self -employed people for the year 2025 will be adjusted at the rate of change in the average annual general consumer price index of 2024, by the Minister of Labor and Social Security.
According to E-EFKA officials, non-employees should pay special attention, as their choice determines the amount of the pension they will receive in the future.
As they typically say, the choice of higher insurance categories also leads to higher pension benefits.
What applies to insured persons with employee and non -employed employment
In addition, there are cases of insured persons who practice parallel and non -employed employment.
As stipulated by law, if the freelancer is employed at the same time and the employee is paid as the insurance contributions corresponding to his / her employed employment, on the basis of his insurable earnings.
If the contributions paid are higher than the contributions resulting from the chosen insurance category, the obligation to pay contributions from the freelancer shall be covered. Any amount of a levy more of the obligation resulting from the insurance category is counted and increases the future retirement benefit.
If the paid contributions paid from the employed work are lagging behind the insurance selection, which in the case of parallel employment should be at least the second or in the case of a special insurance category, it should be the first, then the insured is called upon to cover the difference.
The application
What self-employed insured persons must know is that, through the e-EFKA service, they can choose the insurance category they want for the year 2025.
The use of the service requires their identification with TAXIS and AMKA codes.
In particular, when entering the service:
– Recall their identities,
– Instructions and messages are provided to submit the application,
– Insurance categories are depicted, corresponding to their insurance status,
– A field provided for a parallel employment declaration,
– registered and stored submission/finalization of the request-fee and
– System number and evidence of it is granted.
