A rally with the participation of farmers from all over the country, took place in Thessaloniki.

Among other things, they are calling for a meeting with the prime minister, as they argue that they did not meet their basic demands in contacts with their government representatives.

Specifically, farmers with their tractors, buses and agricultural cars from various parts of the country enter Thessaloniki and park outside the OSE building to rally.

Mobilization is massive.

Farmers are fighting as they told ERTNews about their survival and the race will continue until all their demands are met.

The huby started from the block of Girtai in Larissa, in Katerini, other tractors were incorporated, and in Malgara the farmers joined with their colleagues.

The support measures announced after meeting their representatives with a government step do not, as farmers argue, substantial solutions to their problems, so they wanted a meeting with the prime minister.

Support measures:

The government immediately proceeds to activate resources from the Rural Development Program for the compensation of producers who suffered documented losses of more than 30% in their climate crisis.

A working group is set up by the relevant ministries and farmers to revise the indicators of the return of the special oil consumption tax per crop. The total tax will be refunded regardless of the amount.

The current price remains at 9.3 minutes per kilowatt -hour, and the possibility of locking it for more than two years is considered. There will also be discussions with providers for six -month accounts.
A national priority for the government is to support agricultural production by Kostas Tsiaras, speaking at the meeting of the Production and Trade Committee.

“There is a general effort here and it would be really unfair to the government that aims to support the rural world at this difficult time and do it with realism and real will.”

The minister’s personal bet is to consolidate OPEKEPE and will not remain something that is not considered by justice. In fact, he is in consultation with the European Commission and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office to clear up which point he created ambiguity.

Farmers attempted to reach the hotel where Kyriakos Mitsotakis was, but there were successive police blocks. They managed to break only one, but were prevented by police forces in the next block.
