From the onset of seismic activity in the Santorini-Amorgos zone on January 26 to February 19, 2025, the seismology (SS) Laboratory of the NCSR has detected and identified a total of strict criteria for ensuring the quality of the results, over 22,600 earthquakes. by methods of mechanical learning (artificial intelligence), of which more than 19,300 with sizes M³1.0.

According to a statement from the NCSR, on February 18, more than 600 earthquakes were recorded, with 37 in size M³2.5, three (3) earthquakes with M³4.0, and two (2) with M³4.5, with the two strongest earthquakes, with the two strongest earthquakes, Size 4.9, marked at 06:46:53 and 08:08:09 (local time). On February 19, more than 450 earthquakes were recorded, with 27 in size M³2.5, one (1) earthquake with M³4.0, and none (0) with M³4.5, with the strongest earthquake 4.2 recorded at 11:41 : 09 (local time) north of Anhydros. According to the daily seismic data analysis data (without the use of mechanical learning methods) of the EKPA Seismology Laboratory, 57 earthquakes have been recorded on 20 February, of which none (0) with size m³4.0. The strongest earthquake, 3.7, occurred at 00:09:53 on 21 February (local time). Seismicity has a gradual downturn, both in terms of the daily number of earthquakes and in maximum size, without any new micro -exacerbation from February 15.

A new spatial cluster activated on February 18th east of Anhydros, with an earthquake magnitude 4.9 at 06:46:53 (local time), did not work in the next two days.

Figure 1. Earthquake distribution map in the Cyclades region (Santorini-Amorgos-I) recorded on February 18-19 (artificial intelligence) and February 20 (daily analysis). The radius of the circles is proportional to the magnitude of the earthquake (on top-right), while earthquakes with magnitude greater than or equal to 4.5 are marked with a star. The coloring responds to the focal depth, according to the color scale (right).
