The works for the opening and construction of its tunnels are rapidly proceeding Line 4 of Measure her Athens.

In two central points of the capital, where everyday life never stops, at stations “Courts“And”Academy“, The works go intensively by the Avaxforming an impressive image under the earth, a picture captured by revealing drone shots. Both stations are at an advanced stage of implementation, bringing the city one step closer to the new era of urban movement.

In the “courts” the excavation has already reached a depth of 26 meters, while in the “Academy” the volume of the excavation is already 3 times the volume of the neighboring Rector of the University of Athens.

Court Station: 40 workers – 1,000 tonnes of soil a day

At the intersection of Evelpidon and Moustoxidis streets, the Court Station’s construction site has evolved into one of the most impressive construction fronts of Line 4. The area of ​​the stitch is 1,600 square meters. That is, half a football court or four basketball courts.

Since July 2023, more than 40 workers have been working, removing up to 1,000 tonnes of soil daily. Large trucks run up to 35 itineraries a day. The excavation has already reached a depth of 26 meters, out of a total of 35, and to date 40,000 cubic meters of soil have been removed.

When completed, the “Courts” station will provide better access not only to the judiciary but also to the neighborhoods of Gyzi and Kypseli, significantly upgrading everyday life.

Academy Station: Skam size as 26 Olympic pools

In the heart of Athens, between the Spiritual Center and the Athenian Trilogy, the “Academy” Station takes shape. The excavation has already reached 22 meters, from a total of 25 meters deep. Imagine that the volume of the excavation is as much as 26 Olympic pools or as a building block of 4 -storey apartment buildings.

The Academy Station will operate as a node, offering a seamless connection to line 2 through a 140 -meter underground. The tunnel of a dock extends to 95 meters in length. The docks will be 26 meters below the surface of the Earth while the central area of ​​the station, 802 sqm, will provide a modern and comfortable space for thousands of passengers daily.

For all this, 30 Avax workers work incessantly, accurately and using specialized excavation techniques, changing the map to the movements of Athens residents.

Line 4 proceeds at a rapid pace

The opening and construction of the tunnels of line 4 is moving fast. The two state-of-the-art Metropolitan Avax-Ghella-Alstom consortium will have completed the 12.8 km of their journey within 2026.

The first metropolitan, “Athena”, started by Katechaki and has built a tunnel of about 3 km, is currently at Ilisia Station and is expected to reach the Evangelism in late 2025.

The second TBM, the “Victory”, which follows the opposite course and moves by Alsos Veikos to Evangelism, is near Galatsi station and is expected to reach the Evangelism in late 2026.
