THE Municipality of Athens Invests in the youth for the climate through the Youth Climate Action Fund (Ycaf) of Bloomberg Philanthropies.

Young and young 15-24 years old living or operating in Athens are called upon to become involved to make the city more green, sustainable, climate fair and durable.

In the 2nd round of the program, they can receive grants of up to EUR 4,500 per group (total budget of EUR 96,000). The submission of the proposals opens on 28 February 2025 at https://ycaf.cityofathens.gr/.

Through the funding of the program, young people in Athens can propose and implement their own actions with the support of the Municipality. The YCAF provides grants of 1,000 to 4,500 euros to support youth groups, as well as organizations and agencies that serve young and new, with the aim of creating innovative and collaborative projects that enhance sustainability and climate activity locally.

Conditions and selection criteria

YCAF provides grants of 1,000 to 4,500 euros per group/organization/body, with the aim of creating innovative and collaborative projects that enhance sustainability and climate action locally. Proposals must be aligned with the Climate Action Plan of the Municipality of Athens (2024) that promotes climate neutrality by 2030, promote collective action for the climate, actively involved young people 15-24 years and implemented within the boundaries of the municipality. Athenians.

Groups of young people over 3 people who live, work or study in Athens, aged 15-24, have the right to participate, cooperate with such a legal entity that it will serve as the beneficiary of the grant and the administrator of the funds). In addition, youth organizations and organizations that serve young and young people and offer programs tailored to their needs or active in the boundaries of the Municipality of Athens.

Presentation of 1st Circle Actions and Start of 2nd YCAF cycle

On February 27, 2025, in the framework of the “Green and Blue Infrastructure: Climate durability and Sustainable Cities”, which will take place in the Technopolis of Athens Municipality (Machine Shop), the actions of the 12 Youth Groups funded through the 1st round YCAF will be presented.

The presentation of the actions will take place 13:00 – 16:00. Immediately after 16:00 – 17:00 there will be a discussion on the 2nd round of YCAF, where interested parties will be informed about the priorities and processes of the program and will have the opportunity to support ideas and suggestions.
