A request for a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, Nikita Kaklamanis, was filed by the president of the Association of Relatives of the Tempi victims, Maria Karystianou, two hours before the 2 years of the railway crash and the forthcoming rally.
Reportedly, Ms. Karystianou’s lawyer Maria Gratia phoned the President of the House of Representatives at noon, asking Maria Karystianou – the presence of the lawyer – with Mr Kaklamanis. The request was replied by telephone by the President’s Legal Adviser, Sunday Perros, informing her colleague that Ms Karystianou should email the PTB, expressing Mr Kaklamanis’ intention to meet a personal level.
In an email she sent to the Speaker of the House in the afternoon, Ms Karystianou asked for a meeting tomorrow at 11:00, insisting on the imposed presence of her lawyer. In informing parliamentary authors, Mr Kaklamanis said he replied that he was welcomed in his office on Saturday or Sunday morning, but without the presence of a lawyer. “The House does not oppose any citizen, it cannot come with a lawyer. The House has no legal issue with any citizen, “the Speaker added.
