The tragedy in Tempi, from the first moment, shook the school community and Crete.

We saw students forming the word “you arrived?” With their bags, mobilizing, expressing their support for the families of the victims in various ways.

We give you this promise
28 of February we will always stay silent
leaving white roses
At the edge of our soul that will scream forever, forever …

These are lyrics from the song “White Roses” written by the 3rd grade student of the 3rd High School of Heraklion, Adamantia Mastrakouli.

The song was composed by her teacher, Mr. Penelope Tzanetakis, and the result is shocking.

As they point out, ‘This song was created for people’s pain and is dedicated to all dads, moms, friends, brothers who lost their people … we will always remember you …

The student-lyricist tells Cretalive that “after the encouragement of my teacher, philologist, Mr. Evas Sifaki, and on the occasion of a occupation of our school for the memory of the lost people, I decided to write this poem in a free verse, compose.

The words of the poem came as an inspiration from all things that have been heard all this time about the tragic accident. I wanted to show to all these people who lost their children, relatives and friends that they are not alone in life and that there are still people with empathy. Really, I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose your child not only because I’m little, but obviously because I think there is no greater pain than him.

I hope in the future we will not experience similar moments again and there are only happy occasions to create poems and songs. “

Ms Tzanetakis states that “the poem in our free verse Adamantia Mastrakoulis was so great a source of inspiration that the music as a whole, the orchestration, the piano and the melody of the voice came out effortlessly, it was as if my soul was talked about.
I feel proud of the result and when I was co -creating and sang and orchestrated this song.
The excellent, Dimitris Vassmaris, a sound engineer, composer and owner of Studio Vasmaris, fully supported the process and donated the recording and video clip because he touched him so much our song that he wanted to give us a gift with his soul and his soul.

I have said many times that when children create it becomes something magical. And we the elders must be there with the eyes of the heart and the soul, to listen to what they tell us and to support their efforts. “

White roses (Tempi 28/2/23)

28 of February, zero hour
Pain, crash and death …
Heavy the load of the train
And let’s get filled with dreams and youth
And let’s start with festive mood and joy,
And let’s overflow with anticipation and passion.

Everything was lost in a moment
Everything was buried in the ashes
All crushed in the night,
There is no oxygen for anyone…
There in the Valley of Tempi
stopped the mind to think,
The heart beating, the heart beating …

Where is my child? Where is my daughter?
Did you see my son?
Don’t look for anymore, don’t ask anymore …
Don’t ask anymore …

Angels were made in heaven,
Stars that illuminate our night.
Light possible in our lives,
Fire that will burn forever our existence and guide us
Forever, forever …

We give you this promise
28 of February we will always stay silent
leaving white roses
At the edge of our soul that will scream forever, forever….

Where is my child? Where is my daughter?
Did you see my son?
Don’t look for anymore, don’t ask anymore …
Don’t ask anymore….

Where is my child? Where is my daughter?
Did you see my son?
Don’t look for anymore, don’t ask anymore …
Don’t ask anymore….
