Economic loss of 100m euros for consumers, only in the last six months, caused the action of the smuggled fuel circuit across the country
Two circuits of smuggling fuel was solved by the Financial Police, proceeding with dozens of arrests of service stations across the country.
From 10% to 30% less fuel than each citizen paid, it was entering the tank, from about 250 gas stations throughout Greece.
The owners of two pump installation companies, in Oreokastro Thessaloniki and Aspropyrgos, had created illegal software, which operated a consumer stealing factory and smuggling or distorted fuel on the black market.
The pump counter as well as the proof wrote the amount of fuel delivered whole, without including the fuel they had illegally withheld, while disabling the system via computer or mobile application in the event of checks.
Each company that had supplied the software received more than 100,000 euros a month from the gas stations, while financial loss for consumers exceeds 100 million euros in the last six months, according to officials from the Organized Crime Management.
Officers arrested 61 people, including a relative, of the so -called “ham”, who maintained two gas stations with illegal software.
The brain of the first criminal organization was the 58 -year -old owner of a company in Thessaloniki, who had incorporated his 57 -year -old wife, his 28 -year -old son and 54 more accused.
The second criminal organization numbered 39 members, and their leader was a 68 -year -old from Aspropyrgos.
