L’Antica Pizzaria da Michele, which became world famous after a scene from the movie “Eat, Pray and Love” (2010), announced the opening of three branches in Sao Paulo. The first unit should be inaugurated in the Jardins neighborhood, located in the western region of São Paulo, still in 2025.

The original pizzeria has existed since 1870 and is located on Via Cesare Sersale, in Naples – southern Italy known as the capital of Pizza. There are also restaurant branches in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The place became a mandatory stop for tourists who visit the region after the feature film starring Julia Roberts and directed by Ryan Murphy.
There, only two traditional flavors are found: Margherita and Marinara, made with handcrafted techniques.
The coming to Brazil is being carried out by Restauranteur Frédéric Renaut, which was also responsible for bringing to São Paulo the French restaurants Les Deux Magots in 2023 and Le Napoleon in 2024.
No details have been disclosed about the opening date and the address of the São Paulo unit.
