On the eve of March 25th and the Greek flag is waving again over Xanthi, on the “egg” hill, with impressive views of the picturesque town.

The “friends of the Flag of Xanthi” on Sunday morning made a hiking excursion to the Egg Hill dominating 650 meters to repair the flag tissue (new support and rotation bearings) and the placement of a new flag.

The last flag placed by the members of the Association was on October 20 in view of the national anniversary of October 28, 1940, but due to the strong winds that always blow in the area and the weather was destroyed and the tissue broke.

Attending this unique hiking excursion were many flag friends who responded to the call and helped repair and lift the tissue. After the new flag was raised, all those who found themselves on the spot searched the national anthem, not hiding their joy that the blue -white waves over the city again.
