Following their successful course in the field of electric services, the twin Eleftherios Karampatsakis – Petros Bennos set up their second business in order to protect charger networks from cyberattacks and other malicious actions. A global problem that has begun to swell in recent years as it worked in 2021 before the acquisition of their first company (CARGE by the PPC group). This time, they have a third co -founder, George Anagnostopoulos, Security Expert, coming from England after ten years – making brain regain a reality.

Plugsecure is the first security-as-a-service platform for electric vehicle recharge infrastructures, ensuring the operation of the charging stations through advanced checks. With the development of a data analysis system, it identifies vulnerabilities, attacks or abnormalities and records all errors, with the help of artificial intelligence, helping to protect both providers and users (EV drivers). Founders’ engagement by electric drive from the early stages has given the opportunity to identify an existing problem and therefore a solution to be constructed.

“Thousands of euros are lost every month across Europe, by loads that are not systematically recognized and completed by external artificial means of fraud.” – says Co-Founder & CTO.

Large load providers are already on a waiting list to use the platform’s Beta version, while the team receives all the necessary certifications to support and safety of charging networks.

The investment of € 720,000 was led by Apeiron Ventures, with the participation of Genesis VC, a Greek Family Office and Angel Investor Alexandros Karavitis.

“Funding for the pre-seed round ensures the most important growth period for our team and product. We are very happy to have investors and partners with a different background who come to strengthen our venture in every way possible.” – says E. Karabatsakis (Co-Founder & CEO).

“We are excited to support plugsecure and the excellent group of its founders as they face one of the most critical (and often neglected) challenges in the process of transition to electricity: the safety of the infrastructure that supports it.

The group’s founder-market is excellent, combining a high-level technical training with a deep understanding of the ever-changing landscape of cyber thicks in the EVS ecosystem. As the adoption of electric vehicles accelerates, the need for reliable, flexible and intelligent security services as a service becomes more urgent than ever – and plugsecure offers exactly that. ” – Apeiron Ventures Partners commented on Dimitris Kalavros Gousiou and Nikos Antoniou.

“Plugsecure is facing a significant gap in cyber security of electric vehicle charging infrastructure – an issue that will intensify as the market grows. With an experienced team and a timely solution, we believe that they can set standards for the whole industry. We are excited to support their journey.” – says D. Maroulis (Partner, Genesis Ventures).
