Explanations in the European Public Prosecutor’s Office will be given 16 people next time for another part of Convention 717 that relates to signaling and telecommunications on the railway and is associated with the tragedy in Tempi.

Specifically, representatives of ERGOSE and the joint venture that had undertaken the implementation of Convention 717 will submit as a case -by -case basis for direct complicity of infidelity as well as for moral perpetuation of infidelity at the expense of the financial interests of the European Union and the Greek State.

These persons are alleged to have provided immediate assistance to the then Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Costas Karamanlis to perform the offense of infidelity.

ERGOSE officials allegedly have suggested positively to pay compensation to the Tom-Alstom Transport consortium due to positive losses for the period from 01-08-2018 to 31-03-2020, totaling EUR 2.7 million.

The payment of this amount was approved by the then Minister of Transport, despite the fact that the signaling task had not been completed.

A related case file for the then Minister of Transport had been forwarded to Parliament, but no responsibilities had arisen.
