Authorities arrested two foreigners after finding 46 immigrants to Gavdos beach in Gavdos on Thursday, April 17, according to Neakriti.

According to the official briefing, the two detainees, aged 20, are Sudan nationals and were identified by the competent services as the traffickers of the rest of the group. The information collected by the authorities from immigrant deposits says that the team started from Tombrouk, Libya, with the aim of transferring them to Greece for a fee.

The two young men were arrested on charges of illegal entry into the country under article 83 of Law 3386/2005, as well as to facilitate third -country nationals (in accordance with article 25 of Law 5038/2023, as amended by Law 5079/2023). At the same time, they are charged with co -operation (Article 45 CC) and the crime of life at risk (Article 306 CC).

The preliminary investigation has been undertaken by the Central Port Authority of Chania, which has also seized two mobile phones, which may be related to trafficking and utilized as evidence.
