Experiences that unite class and tasting help discover recipe tricks and ingredients

For those interested in gastronomy, it can be difficult to be content just to eat – want to venture into the kitchen, learn how to make favorite dishes, discover ingredients, tricks and secrets.

With an eye on this Foodie audience, establishments invest in gastronomic experiences that mix classes and tastings. In them, the students observe the chefs in action, participate in the preparations and prove the dishes – all without the pressure of a professional kitchen and without having to wash the dishes at the end.

Gastronomy schools have opened space on their one -day class schedules, where only one type of dish is taught, such as Neapolitan pizza or ramen. The idea is to offer spaces for amateur cooks to have fun and go out with a good sense of how to make certain recipes.

A group of four is in a kitchen, participating in a cooking class. They are using aprons and are focused on preparing dishes on stone bowls. Two women are moving the ingredients with spoons, while one man and another woman observe. On the table, there are glasses with drinks and foods with food. The environment is modern and well lit, with a background that shows more kitchen utensils.

“Most people are looking for us in search of a complete experience: something different from routine, where they can learn something new, have fun, eat well and share good times,” says Erick Passarelli, founder of the recipe school.

Socialization is an important ingredient in this type of event. The mood of classes is relaxed and does not require great culinary skills. “We have seen classes with first meetings, groups of friends and classes making friends at the time. It is also a networking point,” says Guilherme Guerra, chef and owner of the Cantinho Gastronomy school.

Restaurants and emporiums are also opening their doors so that customers have a taste of working in a professional kitchen. “People see the oven where I move the baguette, the size of the masqueiro to beat the dough of bread. It’s a rich experience for gastronomy fans that don’t work in the area,” says Marta Garcia, owner of the Martoca bakery, who teaches how to make cheese bread and cookies on site.

Culinary has been worshiped in recent years through reality shows, TV series and social networks.

The idea of these experiences is that amateur cooks make a quick and enjoyable dive in this universe, without the need for professionalization. Here are six establishments that offer culinary classes with tasting.
