Digital appointments in the Municipalities as well: MyDimos.Live.gov.gr is in pilot operation

The myDimos.Live.gov.gr platform was put into pilot operation today, through which citizens can schedule their appointments with the services of the local Municipalities.

This is the new digital service designed by the General Secretariat of Information Systems of Public Administration, in the standards of the respective digital appointment services myDeskLive, which already operates productively in many key public bodies, such as AADE, KEP, OAED, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hellenic Land Registry.

THE platform was created in collaboration with the Ministries of Digital Government and Interior with the aim of facilitating the procedures for the provision of services and the handling of administrative affairs of citizens and businesses by the Municipalities. In this way a reduction of physical visits is achieved, optimization of the utilization of the staff and saving of time and costs for the traders.

MyDimos.Live.gov.gr starts its pilot operation by the Municipality of Chania and specifically with the possibility of citizens to schedule digital appointments with the executives of the Building Service (YDOM) – Urban Planning of the Municipality of Chania, while in the immediate future the new service will be extended to other Municipal Services.

Already ten more Municipalities have expressed interest in using the platform and have stated their intention to join it.

The step-by-step process

The operation of the platform is very simple.

Initially, the interested party enters myDimos.Live.gov.gr and confirms his details through the Taxisnet codes. Then, he selects the Municipality and the competent service from where he wishes to be served and then he is asked to choose between the available ways of service, from the following options:

• natural presence
• telephone communication or
• video conference

Finally, the citizen chooses the day and time he wishes to be served from the list of available appointments. For those who do not have Taxisnet codes, it is possible to make an appointment through another person. In case of video conferencing service, at the beginning of the video call, the employee checks the identity of the trader by presenting his identification document and then processes the request for which the appointment has been made.

In order to join the platform, each Municipality submits a request to the Directorate of Support of Operation of Public Administration Systems of the General Secretariat of Information Systems of Public Administration by filling in the special form where it determines its business requirements. In addition, based on its organizational and operational needs, each Municipality can choose the provided ways of serving appointments.

Finally, the interested Municipal Authority determines the administrative cases of citizens and businesses that can be programmed through the platform for the service of its citizens. The integration of each Municipality that has the appropriate technical means in the platform myDimos.Live.gov.gr is ascertained by an act of the General Secretary of Information Systems of Public Administration.
