The first 350 English visitors were warmly welcomed at the island’s airport
With feelings of particular satisfaction and optimism for this year’s tourist season, the Thassos Tourism Organization welcomed the first two flights from the United Kingdom to Tui’s flying programs at Kavala.
The first 350 English visitors arrived on the beautiful island of Thassos with flights from Manchester and London, thereby marking the official launch of the new tourist season.
The tourists were welcomed with a warm welcome by the representatives of the Thassos Tourism Organization, the tourist agencies in the area, as well as local professionals who offered them to the airport local treats, brochures and a first smile of Greek hospitality.
In his statements to RES-EIA, Thassos Tourism President Yiannis Marcianos emphasized the importance of this first arrival, saying: “Today’s day is particularly important for Thassos tourism. TUI’s first flights are the kick of a period that we all expect is dynamic and creative. The actions of promotion and strategic cooperation with large tourist groups are fruitful and reinforce Thassos’ position on the international tourist map as a quality, authentic and sustainable tourist destination. “
Tui, one of the largest tourist agents in the world, continues to actively support tourist traffic to Thassos this year, offering direct connections and competitive holiday packages for British tourists, who in recent years seem to show a steady preference on the lush island of the northern east.
The tourist season of 2025 is particularly encouraging for the island of Thassos, with industry professionals hoping to increase arrivals, extending and expanding the season.
