The 28 arrests who are accused of being members are being brought before the prosecutor today criminal organizationwhich acted under the ‘mantle’ far -right Collectivity, committing violence with racist characteristics, robberies, thefts and a number of other illegal acts.
Among those arrested, members of the far -right organization called “Nationalist Youth Thessaloniki“Or” Defend Salonica “, there are several minors who were” recruited “by its older, adult members. It is noteworthy that about half of the detainees are minors, while another minor was identified, but was not arrested because he is abroad.
The arrests were made yesterday during a large police operation in Thessaloniki. From the preceding research that was identified their involvement – whether natural or perpetrators or as mere collaborators – in criminal offenses that were committed from last September to March of this year.
Reports, however, say that its members have been employed by the authorities and in older incidents, such as in September 2021 in western Thessaloniki, when members of student factions were attacked during anti -racist protest outside school.
The long -term police investigation revealed that the persons involved used a specific online platform for communications between them, while maintaining many social media accounts, through which they in many cases put forward their far -right rhetoric and their “accomplishments”.
