7,000 surgeries are scheduled in May – in order of priority or sending messages to patients – what is the procedure
The SMS mission for free afternoon surgeries in private hospitals began yesterday, according to Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistokleous speaking to SKAI.
The messages to patients, Mr. Themistokleous, said in order of priority, and 7,000 surgeries are already scheduled for private clinics for May.
Patient participation is zero as costs are covered by the state. “It is state’s debt to find a solution for people who have been waiting for a long time to operaten.
As the Deputy Minister of Health said, the wait was burdened during the Coronovation period as there were surgical units that were closed for up to 18 months.
At the same time, 5,000 patients have operated in public hospitals and increased morning surgeries.
Regarding the procedure for surgeries in private hospitals, according to Mr. Themistokleous, the patient, after receiving the SMS, then enters epemvaseis.gov.gr, chooses the clinic that wishes to be operated on and planned.
