A rescue operation and an arrest of a trafficker took place at dawn in the eastern Aegean.

Specifically, in the early hours, a patrol boat of the Coast Guard – Greek Coast Guard found thirty -one (31) foreigners on the “Katsagani” rocky island, east of Agathonisi.

With the help of a floating fishing vessel, the immigrants were selected and transported safely to the port of Pythagorion of Samos.

All of them were handed over to executives of the Samos Police Department and transferred to the closed controlled structure of the island.

Also three other foreigners from the same group, who were identified by a Frontex force on the rocky island, were initially transported first to the port of Pythagorion and then to a closed controlled structure.

Among the aliens found, a 34 -year -old Turkish national was recognized by others as their trafficker.

He was arrested by executives from the Samos Port Authority and faces serious charges of violations related to illegal trafficking of immigrants.

The boat used to carry them was seized, and the Port Authority was undertaken by the Samos Port Authority.

At the same time, under the coordination of the Single Research and Rescue Coordination Center (EKSED), a rescue operation was held forty (40) foreigners aboard a boat south of Gavdos.

The transfer of the rescuers was securely completed in the port of Karave Gavdou with the assistance of a fishing boat.
