For a month, unified and in time long after the summer “it seems that the Thessaloniki Metro Basic Line will eventually be interrupted due to its expansion to Kalamaria,” said Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Nikos Tahaios, clarifying that it will be surrendered by EUR 20.

Speaking from the step of the “Macedonian Macedonian” and emakedonia.gr dialogue forum on “Central Macedonia on a Fast Forward path”, Mr. Tahaios noted that the extension of the subway to Kalamaria is a priority for the Greek government and as he emphasized “20”.

And saying that the plans of the Greek government are the opening of Pontos Street in Kalamaria, analogy to the opening of Plaho, but he himself admitted that he was not the same “mature”-the case of Pontus-as he explained, much of the expropriations.

The timetable of Pontus opening I am not sure that it converges with the subway timetable »he said, however, assuring that the leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is in complete cooperation with the Mayor of Kalamaria in order to provide solutions.

Referring to the extension of the subway to the west of Thessaloniki, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure pointed out that it was the next priority of the Greek government and in this context that it announced that an extension was given to the execution of the framework for the precursor work, in order to focus on “the lines we want” Metro extension to the west of the city, “he said.

Funded by € 53.5 million from the NSRF the suburban

Speaking about the suburban construction project west of Thessaloniki, Mr. Tahaios, although he acknowledged, is no longer a matter of his responsibility but as he said, “Thessaloniki is more important than the minister” and said that it was funded by the NSRF with 53.5 million and not only the city. He reiterated that there would be a twin bridge at the port entrance and restructuring lines inside the port, so as not to interrupt the passage of vehicles from October 26th. “This development paves the way for a major intervention with the Holocaust Museum under construction, by removing the lines from the western entrance,” he said, adding that “OSE should solve the issue of the space where the trains will be assembled.”

Among other things, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure during his placement announced that the concession of the company “Egnatia Odos” is estimated to be completed by August, while referring to the implementation of other smaller projects, he spoke of the reconstruction of the Dendropotamos Bridge, with a € 2.5 million bridge.

In general, however, as Mr Tahaios emphasized, “there are plans for Thessaloniki, which we are constantly discussing” and noted that the ministry is open to discussion with bodies, city representatives and other political forces, for a single and cohesive plan for the future. In this context, he noted the great importance of the way in which the projects are claimed, but also the goals set, as he explained “too many goals that had been adopted in the past, today are not applicable”.

He also recognized as the infrastructure in Greece is “aging”, he pointed out that the resources are not infinite and stressed that based on his experience in recent years, the best way to implement projects is “to be united”.

Routine to see the trains

Answering a question about a video showing two Thessaloniki metro trains opposite each other, Mr. Tahaios categorically made it clear that “Never train never found in opposite orbit than he needed“And that it pointed out all the functions were done in automatic mode, and there was no handling of the operating control center.

As he explained, because a train had to be transported to the train station, everyone else first stopped and then passed to the opposite engraving, he said the system allows two trains to come into contact up to 15 meters.

In fact, he pointed out that when 15 trains will be added which will also serve the expansion of the subway to Kalamaria, reduce the time and a half minutes and then “will be routine” (the “meeting” of trains in the position of trajectory changes). “There is no security problem in the Thessaloniki subway,” he said categorically.
