Volvo Cars announces the expansion of its collaboration with Google ™ to deliver the recent Android Automotive OS innovations to Volvo model holders with built -in Google services. The new innovations include Google Gemini ™, which the two companies introduced together on Google I/O 2025, in a Volvo ex90. Volvo models will also serve Google’s hardware reference platforms for the future development of Android in cars.

“For years, Google and Volvo Cars have been working closely to bring the latest technology to connected cars”, said Patrick Brady (Patrick Brady), Vice President of Android For Cars on Google. “We are excited about deepening this cooperation that accelerates the application of innovation, which not only improves driving experience for Volvo customers, but also sets new standards in the automotive industry.”

Following Google Gemini launch in the car from Google, Volvo models with built -in Google services will be one of the first to benefit from the power of the latest technology in interactive artificial intelligence (AI).

Gemini in the car can better understand what you want while driving, through physical discussion. You can speak naturally to create messages, translate them into another language before sending them, request information from the car’s manual or find out specific details about your destination. This type of physical discussion can help relieve the driver’s mental load so that it remains committed to driving, reducing the inconvenience for all passengers.

Gemini will replace the current Google Assistant in Volvo cars with built -in Google, later in the year.
