A new episode of “invasion” of African dust, which will widely affect the eastern Mediterranean but largely Greece, begins today, according to the National Observatory of Athens.
Dust concentrations are today increased in the atmosphere and, as meteo.gr reports, the episode will last until Sunday, May 25th, making it difficult for air quality.

In its detailed prognosis, the Athens Observatory emphasizes that the main features of Friday’s weather will be the transfer of African dust and high temperatures.
More specifically, the weather will be cloudy with clouds mainly in the west and southern and local rains in central and northern Ionian, western and central solid Greece, Epirus and the Peloponnese, while favorable to the transfer of African dust.
Temperatures will range in Western Macedonia from 11 to 24 degrees, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 14 to 29 degrees, in the Ionian Islands from 13 to 28 degrees, in Epirus from 15 to 28 degrees, in Thessaly from 15 to 29 degrees, in Central Greece from 15 to 32 degrees, from 15 to 32 degrees from 15 degrees from 15 degrees. and in Crete from 14 to 32 degrees.
