The United Arab Emirates announced today that they had recorded record temperatures for May 50.4 degrees Celsius, something unprecedented for 20 years in this bay.

“The highest temperature recorded in the country today is 50.4 degrees Celsius in Al Saumex,” in Abu Dhabi’s emirate, a message posted by the National Meteorology Center in his account in X.

“It is the highest temperature ever (in May) since the registries began in 2003,” he told the French News Agency (AFP).

The record for May had reached up to 50.2 degrees Celsius in 2009.

The country had experienced an unusual heat for the season last month, with a record of a maximum maximum temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius, pushing the authorities to issue recommendations to citizens, inviting them to drink a lot of water and avoid activities outdoors during the hottest hours.

Mercury was launched at 46.6 degrees Celsius on April 27, the second largest temperature ever in April in the country, after a 46.9 degree Celsius record in April 2012.
