Early in the afternoon, the cloudy sky, with strong wind, brought rain, but that did not change the mood of the crowd that stayed there
And yet, even with the “threat” of a rain, they took babies, children and dogs and came by thousands to admire the glorious past of the automotive industry, looking “alive” what they had only seen in old films.
After all the sixth Alimos Classic Car Sunday, held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, it was not an ordinary static classic car show! It was unique in participation, glow, music and a remarkable good mood of the spectators who, while their entrance to the Alimos coastal pedestrian street was set at 13:00 noon, began to arrive at… 10:00 in the morning, as experienced taxi drivers.
Naturally, the focus of the event was “Made by Greeks”, where the crowds saw but did not touch Nikos Theologos ‘history, admired Dimitris Korres’ dynamic P3 and the super k of the Kerabos couple, next to a red Greek pony. Around them, the “leader” of the event Nikos Mastorakis had placed rare car examples that deserved this distinction.
Cosmos and the electric drive of PPC Blue that had to show the historic ENFIELD 8000 of 1973 (the country’s first electric car) next to a brand new Volkswagen id.3 GTX bridging the past through the past with the future. Something that seemed to be of great interest to visitors.
Shortly after noon, Alimos Mayor Andreas Kondylis and Nikos Mastorakis honored the “Honorable Car of the Year”, Citroen’s popular 2CV, Kembos couple, Dimitris Korre and Nikos (grandson) for the Greek.
The popular cars, Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley by Paris Eliades, in the future classics, the Ford Model T 1917 and all the carefully selected classics for their uniqueness, were in the famous “grass”.
The real spectacle, however, was on the pedestrian street where colors, shapes, sea and music were entangled in a unique choreography, starring the huge crowd of visitors who did not catch a spectacle and across. “With all the tenderness I feed on classic cars,” says Nikos Mastorakis, “My heart was won by the spectacle of wonderful families, as I saw three generations together around the exhibits by making thousands of selfies and commenting on what the children’s eyes saw for the first time. In a walk we took with the mayor, we heard nothing more than “thank you” and it was moving and justified the months of preparation and the superhuman efforts we make to the coastal street the world’s unique classic cars by the sea. As for the rain, she just justified the popular proverb, since… spectacularly 250 cars were married with the good mood of a wonderful crowd“
Early in the afternoon, the cloudy sky, with strong wind, brought rain, but that did not change the mood of the crowd that remained there until the rain and wind began to dry awnings and umbrella. It was natural for the “unprotected” converts to leave first while the pedestrians were looking for … roof.
“It was the most unexpected and impressive finale in the six years of the event,” says Mayor Andreas Kondylis, “but because visitors came early, the five hours before the rain had a beneficial cool weather, unlike the unbearable heat. And the strange thing was that spectators and participants accepted the rain as a reasonable ending, as a catalyst for a very intense and fun day. ”
The Mayor and Nikos Mastorakis promised that the ACCS VII of the year will even overshadow, despite its unexpected end, the exquisite this year.
