Authorities estimate that the mafia remained hidden in order to find an opportunity to escape to Bulgaria at the same time, police officers from the Northern Greece Organized Crime Officer, had set up blocks along the land border with Bulgaria, while Drone had a drone.

The 49 -year -old was arrested at 6am on Saturday morning after a coordinated operation by the Directorate for Organized Crime with the assistance of EKAM executives. He is being held in the Thessaloniki Police Directorate.

Reportedly, for two days, Greek FBI police officers had targeted the area, probably knew from the stigmas of the mobile phones of the three and some testimonies of people who agreed to disclose some information to the police that they had moved to the area of Komotini. According to information from officials who are in charge of the investigation, they targeted the last 24 hours in a wider area where there are three four settlements, one of which was found in which the 49 -year -old was found. Then secret police officers and drones were overseeing the area. Reports say it was found yesterday, but for operational reasons it was decided to raise the side to take place today in the early morning hours, with the assistance of EKAM men, in order to surprise the 49 -year -old and not to resist, as was the case.

What revealed

It is noted that the detainee was not arguing and, as the police, worked with them, even pointing to the point where they had left their escape car, a gray toyota jeep, in which they were on board when fires were opened against EYP officials. This car was found in the area of Lagadikia, near Asprovalta. He allegedly revealed to the police that from that point to Komotini he was led, received and taken by a compatriot and also added that his two accomplices may have fled to Bulgaria.

The police are skeptical of this claim and are optimistic that in the coming hours they will find and arrest the other two. They clarify that they had emphasized the first to identify the one who had shot them, their colleagues who served as seconded to the EYP.

The past of the Turkish mafia

The Turkish mobster was arrested in 2009 and 2018 as he had entered our country illegally. He is now living legally having asylum since 2023. At the expense of the Turkish authorities’ warrants for drug trafficking, immigrant trafficking, illegal possession and escape.

Had been arrested in business – broom

This man was arrested once again this February, when, after a murder of a Turkish national at the KTEL Macedonia in Thessaloniki, police had a big broom. He had then arrested 9 people in cases that were not associated with homicide, such as drug and weapons law violations. One of the 9 arrested then was the 49 -year -old man.

Most of these Turkish criminals who concern the Greek authorities have a past in Turkey, and this is also the main reason they leave their country and come to Greece, which they sometimes use as a hideout and sometimes as a field for clearing the accounts between warring groups.

It is noted that these Turks are said to be members of the Daltons gang. The EYP, in a confidential exhibition that had written at such a time last year, in May 2024, had then mapped 6 different groups of criminals. A new exhibition drawn up by the Greek Police finds “traces” of thugs involved in 10 different groups. One of which is the Daltons. Some are small, others do not. Indeed, for the Daltons it is known that many businesses have been repeatedly done in Turkey and dozens of members have been arrested. The founder of this group is Baris Boyun, who was arrested in Italy in 2024 and indicative of the importance of Turkey on his face is that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan himself, at a meeting with his Italian counterpart, had been his counterpart.

The deposit of the EYP Police Officer

At the same time his first deposition gave the executives of the Greek FBI one of the EYP executives

“I saw one Turkish act coming towards me holding the pistol in his hand. I put the car engine in front and pressed gas. I passed by his side while he was shooting me. “

These allegedly supported his first deposition, one of the EYP executives, who was confronted with the Turkish mafios of the Dalton group. The man described to the police, what preceded the shootings.

“We were four agents with two cars and two motorcycles. One colleague who was in the car was ahead, just like the other two with motorcycles. I stopped with alarm 300 meters from the station when the suspicious vehicle went to put gasoline. “

As the agent allegedly testified, “the Turks thought I was a member of an opposing criminal organization and if we repaid the fire, it would be a dangerous clash.”

EYP executives had identified that the three Turks were members of Dalton and had information that they would attack an opposing group, so they were in their monitoring operation.

Prosecution for attempted homicide

The case file for the incident by the Northern Greece Organized Crime Officer was forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Thessaloniki and a criminal prosecution was brought.

Reportedly, the case file includes both the 49 -year -old allegedly shot and his two compatriots who were on the same vehicle (jeep type), with the first driver.

The prosecutor of the Court of First Instance has prosecuted the 49 -year -old for attempted homicide, co -conspiracy (to a degree of felony), as well as for illegal weapons and arson (misdemeanors). As for the other two who remain unmistakable and sought, the prosecution concerns the act of simple synergy in attempted homicide, co -conspiracy.

According to the same information, arrest warrants are expected to be issued by the 5th Regular Investigator of Thessaloniki, which handles the case is expected to be issued.
