Complete laboratory for the training of counterfeit travel documents, which made illegal promotions of immigrants, mainly by the air method, was found on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in an area of ​​Attica by police officers from the Department of Migration of the Attica Directorate.

A woman arrested – the case file includes another identified person

A coordinated police operation was carried out on the case, with the participation of Police and Judicial Authorities of Belgium, following a European investigation mandate, in which a domestic was arrested, while another person was identified against which a European arrest warrant was issued.

How did he act

It was preceded by a long investigation into a transnational circuit, whose members organized illegal trafficking of immigrants, from Greece or their countries of origin with a intermediate stop in Greece to other European countries, and especially Belgium, as well as from Turkey in Greece, supplying them with fake travel documents.

As it turned out, a key member of the circuit was the detainee, who operated, within her home, a complete laboratory for the training of counterfeit documents, which carried out illegal trafficking, as well as the training of counterfeit banknotes.

In addition, it was found that the detainee was displayed parcels with fake travel documents to European countries through postal parcels, as, after exchanging information with Europol, he was identified as a sender of a relevant parcel found in Germany in 2020.

Further, in the context of the investigations, the large sums of money derived from the circuit members, ranging from -7,500 -euros to 17,000 per case of immigrant trafficking were determined.

What was found in investigations

From the investigations carried out in the house, a total of found and seized:

  • engraving machine,
  • 4 hard drives,
  • Document destroyer,
  • table engraver,
  • multitude of inks,
  • mobile,
  • tablet,
  • 70 documents, fully trained or under processing (ID cards, residence permits, passports, etc.),
  • 58 fake seals,
  • 10 macroscopic fake banknotes,
  • 565 Silver Presses with iridescent banknotes security elements and
  • 18 fake travel checks, a nominal value of $ 500 each.

This company was implemented in the context of the preparation of the National Business Plan (ESA) and the EMPACT 2.2 EastMed action of the European Union Policy Cycle that is leading our country, while for the information presented in an international nature, a research is carried out through cooperation with Europol.

The arrested person is led to the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the documents and digital evidence seized will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Division for laboratory testing.
