In the restoration, redevelopment and renovation of two historical gymnasiums in Athens, the National Gymnasium of Athens “Ioannis Fokianos”, as well as the public and model Kaisariani children’s gym, a total budget of up to 5,580,000 euros, will proceed with the Ministry of Education.

In particular, as announced by the Ministry, which is supervised by the two gyms, the renovation will include rehabilitation, energy upgrading, accessibility enhancement for people with disabilities, improving security infrastructure (fire safety, earthquake protection) and environmental protection.

In the context of sports education and experiential learning, the two gymnasiums perform activities with Olympic and non -widespread sports, in motor skills adapted to the age of students, as well as educational guided tours at the Gymnasium Museum.
