Ford Pro increases the productivity of the e-transit custom family by introducing a new, high-capable four-wheel drive model (AWD). The AWD version is ideal for customers looking for improved traction levels, such as professionals in the Scandinavian countries, Alps and Highlands or even leisure vehicles.

Ford engineers developed an advanced new AWD system for e-transit custom, evolving the existing rear-wheel drive, adding an additional high-power power plant for front wheels

The two independent drive units provide optimum torque on all four wheels of the vehicle, maximizing both traction levels and capabilities on surfaces with steep slope. At the same time, the advanced system of Ford Pro comes to ensure improved dynamic behavior even in extremely slippery conditions, such as ice or mud.

The new e-Transit Custom AWD is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2026 and will be available in a variety of versions, including the “robust” series of models called Trail. The four-wheel drive e-transit custom will be presented in parallel with the AWD version of the purely electric and versatile e-tourneo custom. More details and technical specifications for both models will be announced when the launch date is approaching.
