The fire that broke out on Friday night in Evia in the Mesochoria area of Karystos Municipality.
The firefighters fought over the flames over the night and with the first light of the day they threw the air means again.
At 4 in the morning, two new messages were sent from 112 to the residents of Limniona and the Tsakaea, to leave their homes and head to New Styra.
According to Eviathema, so far, no danger to human lives or houses have been reported, however, at night the flames, despite the superhuman efforts of the firefighters and volunteers, were found within walking distance of their homes. The fire is mainly evolving into low vegetation and pine -covered spots.
The great fear of the authorities focuses on the strong winds, which constantly feed the scattered outbreaks, creating new fronts and increasing the intensity of the fire.
The front of the fire is between Mesochoria, Tsakaion and Limniona Beach. Firefighting operations are continuing to prevent the spread to residential areas, while the forces remain on the highest alert.
Powerful firefighters have already been concentrated from various parts of central and southern Greece, reinforcing the line of defense in an attempt to stop the Fire course before heading to New Styra.
Speaking to SKAI, Euboea Vice -Mayor George Kelaiditis spoke “of a difficult night, with constant resuscitation where houses were often in danger in the settlement of the Tsakai”. However, he advised that “in the early hours the situation seems to be a little better”.
The Municipality of Karystos has already set up municipal infrastructure for the hospitality of citizens who have been forced to leave their homes, provided that temporary housing is required.
