The first “live casket” in the world, made entirely of natural materials and degradation on the ground 45 days after burial, built a Danish company.
Loop Biotech made ‘Live cocoon»From local species mushroom and recycled fibers cannabisplanning to attract ecologists and nature lovers who want to remain loyal to their beliefs to the end.
The perfectly ecological and “designer” coffin is lined with a soft layer of hemp and a moss pillow, with the choice of “upgrading” on a layer of wool or soft cotton.
The coffin itself weighs 30 kg and has a capacity of up to 200 kg, with six built -in handles for easy transport.
“Become part of the magnificent life cycle of nature and enrich Earth with the world’s first living casket,” says Loop Biotech’s website.
The company says traditional wooden coffins “not only take decades to grow trees, but also include their slicing, introduction and processing.”
The “live cocoon”, however, can be fully developed in seven days using local raw materials, eliminating unnecessary transport and the need for extra color, glue, varnish or screws.
According to Dailymail, so far the company has sold about 2,500 coffins in Europe – mainly in the Netherlands – but their “cocoon” is also available for shipment to the United Kingdom and the US.
Indeed, a woman from Maine buried her father on their estate, the first dead to be ecologically buried in the US.
Marsya Ancker’s father always used to tell her that she wanted to be buried naked, under a tree in the woods.
When she died in June, her first call was to Loop Biotech. She buried her father in a “live cocoon” – in a glade forest in their ownership in Maine.
PS: The coffin, which costs about £ 3,000 (almost 3,500 euros), can also be used in creations.
