Recommendations are re -addressed to the citizens by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection in order to be very careful, ensuring that self -protection measures from high temperatures are resulting from self -protection measures.

OR General Secretariat Civil protection (civilProtection.gov.gr) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, has informed the competent officials involved in state agencies, as well as the regions and municipalities of the country, in order to be on increased civil protection readiness in order to immediately address the impact of high temperatures.

In areas where high temperatures are prevalent, the GAPP draws attention to people who belong to vulnerable groups to be particularly careful to avoid health problems, such as thermal exhaustion and heat stroke, which may be caused by the high temperatures that will prevail.

In particular, according to the self -protection guidelines from high temperatures, it is recommended for citizens:

  • Stay in cool and shady spaces away from overcrowding, use air conditioners or fans, and avoid heavy physical work in areas with high temperature, apnea and high humidity.
  • Avoid sunbathing, as well as walking or running under the sun, and wear a hat and sunglasses and light -colored fabric clothes that allow the skin to ventilate and facilitate the evaporation of the sweat, avoiding synthetic fabrics.
  • To consume light meals with fruits and vegetables, limiting the fat and the amount of food.
  • Drink plenty of water and fruit juices, avoiding alcohol.

Particular care is recommended for babies and young children, as well as the elderly and sufferers from chronic diseases to protect them from high temperatures.

According to the updated emergency weather report (EDEK) issued today by the National Meteorological Service (NMS), the temperature in our country and in the coming days will be maintained at a very high level. Possible expiration of the heat all over Greece on Sunday (27-7-2025).

It is noted that:

  • A. Minimum temperatures will range at high levels (about 28 to 29 degrees Celsius mainly in urban centers).
  • B. From Friday (25-07-25) at noon and Saturday (26-07-25) in the east and mainly in the Aegean, reinforced northern winds of 6 to 7 beaufort will prevail.
