The removal of dozens Municipality of Athensafter consultation with OTE.
All of these telephone installations have remained inactive and without operational use for many years in various parts of the city, burdening the image of public space and creating obstacles for pedestrians and people with disabilities. They were essentially outbreaks of pollution, but also causing accidents.
Responding to many citizens’ requests, the Department of Infrastructure contacted OTE’s competent services and requested the removal of damaged cards.
Gradually, 63 inactive telephone booths were dismissed, with 24 more removal in August. By October there will be an additional 67 depletions.
The removal started from central points in Athens.
