Death of children in Patras – Achilleas Gravanis: The three “whys” that we should discuss

by

Three “why” in the case of the deaths of three children in Patras are posted on Facebook by Professor of Pharmacology, Achilleas Gravanis, noting that these questions should be discussed as a society, to reduce the possibility of recurrence of such traumatic events for all of us, but we choose to avoid them.

Achilles Gravanis says characteristically:

“EXCESSIVE AGAIN”

as a society with the unthinkable history of the Patras family! How the mother looks, television psychoanalysis all day, amateur detectives and lawyers everywhere in the electronic and print press. But what we should discuss as a society we avoid:

-why did not the health colleagues activate after the 2nd loss of life of a child without a medical explanation, but also in the multiple hospitalizations that the third child faced with unexplained health problems?

-why were not the social welfare services mobilized (also through the health institutions) in this obviously problematic family with the successive unexplained deaths of three of its children?

-why did the extended family, even the friendly, social environment that is now ready to lynch, not make a fuss to ask for help from the state institutions?

We need to answer these questions as a society to reduce the likelihood of such traumatic events happening to all of us. “Let the experts leave the rest to justice.”
