Very high risk of fire (Risk category 4) is provided for Sunday, August 24, 2025, according to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, as reflected in the updated forecast map. The alarm concerns specific areas of the country:

  • South Aegean Region (Rhodes)
  • Northern Aegean Region (Samos, PE Ikaria)

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has already informed all the relevant authorities, regions and municipalities in order to be in High Civil Protection Readiness with the aim of directly dealing with possible fires.

Enhanced measures and increased surveillance

According to the official announcement of the Fire Brigade, the second stage of operational readiness of the Fire Department is implemented. Air surveillance patrols and coordinated patrols by firefighters, police and military forces will take place in the increased risk areas.
