Compensations were paid to the affected by the fire that broke out on July 27 in the Municipality of Dionysus, in the Kryoneri community.
The steps of the Directorate -General for Natural Disaster Impact Restoration (GDAEF) completed the autopsies within two days, utilizing the “Digispect” application.
According to autopsies, a total of 18 buildings were recorded, 8 of which were described as “green”, 5 “yellow” and 5 “red”.
On the day after the extinguishing, Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Mr. Katsafados visited the affected areas and attended a meeting with representatives of the Municipal Authority, the Region and Local Bodies.
During the meeting, a clear directive was given to maintain a strict timetable, with the aim of immediate rehabilitation and compensation of those affected.
In this context, the Municipality has registered citizens’ requests and gather all the necessary supporting documents, sending the full file to the competent departments of the Ministry in a timely manner to begin the procedure for the payment of compensation.
Of the 18 properties checked, the 17 owners filed applications for compensation.
After thorough checks on the files, the payment of compensation to 13 beneficiaries was approved.
The total amount allocated amounts to EUR 42,690 and relates to financial support for the restoration of the household, including the first needs allowance, of EUR 600 per beneficiary.
The immediate and organized state response confirms the importance of early cooperation and effective coordination for the management of emergencies and the support of the affected citizens.
The aim of Deputy Minister Mr. Katsafadou is not to lose a single day in the rehabilitation process so that those affected immediately receive the support they are entitled to through state relief mechanisms.
