Significant deficiencies at the Aegina Health Center are brought to light by the death of a 79 -year -old woman on the beach of Agia Marina last Friday, due to a lack of ambulance driver.

Specifically, on Friday, August 22 in the afternoon, the woman was recovered from the sea, where she had lost consciousness. He immediately received first aid from a private and lifeguard. During this time swimmers were constantly phoning the Health Center, which however said it was unable to send an ambulance due to a lack of driver. Although there are three drivers in organic positions, no one responded to the call of the on -call doctor.

Eventually the 79 -year -old woman ended up with the unfortunate woman transferred.

Speaking on Tuesday morning on the SKAI show “Unmoved” Mr. Panos Papanikolaou, member of the Board of Directors of EINAP He commented on the incident that protests on staff deficiencies in ambulances and healthcare staff at the island’s Health Center are made by the island November 2024.
