The most worrying, however, is that with the rapid development of social media, school bullying is now coming out of the narrow boundaries of a school complex and expanding more and more on the internet. Increased use of the internet and digital media in general, especially young people that are quickly familiar with technology in their daily lives, seems to have opened a back door through which school bullying finds a digital field and is getting even larger. The school community is transferred to the internet and with it the abuse that multiplies in the digital context, magnifying its impact on the person who exists. Although virtual in its form, its consequences are perfectly real in the psychology of a child or adolescent.
One of the biggest tanks for the bullies of bullying is teenagers who have learned to socialize and communicate online. The interaction of perpetrator and victim takes on other dimensions, leaving a larger imprint.
The role of psychology
School bullying and online extensions have created a new field of action for psychology. Psychologists are now increasingly involved in bullying and are valuable advisers to the education system, students, students, teachers and parents. Counseling at the level of both the family and the school community is constantly developing, and more and more children who have been bullyed is being driven to the psychologist’s office, so that they can take their lives behind and develop the required resistance tools.
This field, in terms of specialization for scientists in the industry, is of particular interest and is constantly expanding, as school bullying, and the online, is growing with the development of social media, with the anonymity that the internet offers, but also with the illusion that everything is happening there. Parents’ counseling centers, psycho-educational seminars, family and children’s children are finding more and more space and role.
With an emphasis on prevention
Now as ever, there is a need for qualified professionals in the field, with specialized knowledge of mental health and adolescent mental health. EUC’s online postgraduate degree in the mental health of child and adolescents offers professionals and those who wish to work with these ages with analytical skills, working practices and research methods needed to develop mental health sector.
The postgraduate degree provides students with a detailed knowledge of politics and innovative practices, specially designed for children, young people and their families.
