More than 33,000 citizens have already downloaded the app Mystreetthe new digital application aimed at safeguarding the public character of public spaces and unhindered accessibility to those of all citizens with a focus on people with disabilities, parents with trolleys, children and so on. This innovative digital application, which operates on the basis of the successful standards of the Mycoast application, already plays a decisive role in the organization and management of public spaces, as it ensures the transparency and responsibility of the competent bodies. This is also evidenced by the participation of citizens, who have the opportunity through the application, to improve the quality of life in their cities, while at the same time giving municipalities the opportunity to control leases easily and quickly and improve its organization and management.
So far, data from 99 Municipalities They have been introduced in the application, with a total of 7,324 concessions, of which 6,674 have been published and are now visible to citizens. The total number of active concessions with a start and expiration date is 7,298, with more than 4,350 reports of deposited citizens and 4,053 of them. Of these, 976 have already been published, giving a clear picture of the situation and reliability of concessions in the public space.
However, the image is not homogeneous. According to data, public bodies such as the Municipality of Athens and the Municipality of Thessaloniki host the largest published concessions, with 1,991 and 1,227 respectively, and the list also includes smaller municipalities such as Trikala, Volos, Nea Propontis and others. On the opposite bank, there are large cities (Patras, Heraklion, Crete, Sparta) that have zero or very few entries, while some municipalities have imported data, but have not made it public, leaving the information unavailable to citizens.
RES-EIA presents the municipalities with the most published concessions, those who, while introducing data into the application, have not published them or have published very little about the whole, that is, they are not visible to the citizens, but also the big cities with zero registrations:
Municipalities with the most published concessions:

• MUNICIPALITY OF IOANNITON: Concessions 1 Published Concessions: 0
• MUNICIPALITY OF PATRON: Concessions 0 Published concessions: 0

From the first moment, and through the mouth of the Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Dimitris Papastergiou, it became clear that the Mystreet platform is a tool with enormous capabilities, accessibility and transparency, since municipalities fully utilize its potential. The regulation and publication of concessions in public areas contributes decisively to the fight against illegal occupation and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups, such as people with disabilities or children. At the same time, the competent authorities have a complete picture of the data and complaints, while the process of control and imposing sanctions is ongoing, with municipalities taking responsibility and cooperating with the Municipal Police or ELAS where required.
It is therefore clear that the attitude of some municipalities, which are delaying or avoiding all data, is an obstacle to the integrated application of the system, with the result of the success of Mystreet throughout the Greek territory, still under negotiation.
It should be noted that all municipalities have been informed in detail about the process of registering the data in the register of licenses for the use of public spaces by both the Ministry of Digital Governance and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as by KEDE.
How does mystreet work
Mystreet can be downloaded free of charge by citizens on their mobile phones through the App Store and the Play Store. The purpose of Mystreet is to ensure that all citizens have access to public spaces, offering both citizens the opportunity to actively participate in improving the quality of life in their city, as well as in municipalities the opportunity to control leases easily and quickly and to improve their organization and management. This is an important application, developed by the Ministry of Digital Governance, in collaboration with Local Government.
Through mystreet, citizens are informed through an interactive real -time map of active leases of public spaces, such as coffee shops, restaurants or other businesses. In cases where they find violations, they can denounce it through the application. In this way, mystreet helps to enhance transparency, as well as to compliance and maintain the legality of public space management.
Citizens also have the choice to browse Mystreet on maps with “electric vehicle charging points” and “safe concentration points” in emergencies, such as earthquakes. Soon the “Disabled Parking” and the “National Defibrillator Register” will soon be incorporated into Mystreet.
More specifically, citizens to file complaints in cases where they find infringements:
⦁ They open mystreet on their mobile.
⦁ They choose the interactive map of the application, either one of the leasing points displayed, or, if the problem is at a point where there is no recorded lease, they are prolonged with their finger on the map.
⦁ Then there is a pop -up window with information on this lease (eg limits of the grade, validity, area, brand name) or geo -information if the point is not within recorded lease. In the pop -up window they select “Submission of Report” and opens the complaint form.
⦁ They select from a list (Down Menu) the type of complaint they want to make on the basis of violation (eg, exceeding bank seats, disabled access obstruction). If they wish, they complete a description in the special field for comments.
⦁ After completing the form, they choose whether the complaint will be anonymous or surname. In order to submit a surname, they need to connect with their personal Taxisnet codes for their identification.
⦁ They are “sending” to submit the complaint and a confirmation message appears that the complaint was successfully submitted. In the case of branded complaints, they are stored in the profile of the citizens and see them at all times in the section “My References”.
It should be noted that citizens can only file a complaint for a point 500 meters from their current location. In addition, each user of the application can file three complaints per day and per formula.
Complaints are automatically sent to the digital platform of the registration of licenses for the use of public spaces managed by the relevant municipality. This allows for the rapid assessment and intervention of the competent authorities. Citizens are informed by the application of the development of complaints.
