The internationally recognized sculptor Vassilis Doropoulos died on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the age of 83.

He was a member of the Paris Chamber of Art and the Paris Association, a member of the EETE (Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece) and the Hellenic Sculpture Association. The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece/EETE expresses its regret over the death of the sculptor and his sincere condolences to his family and his relatives.

Vassilis Doropoulos was born in 1942 in Mesopotamia, Kastoria. He studied at the Ecole National Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in 1966 at M. Tondu’s painting atelier and in Etienne’s sculpture Martin Collamarini et Cesar from where he graduated in 1972. The main individual exhibitions are the retrospective painting exhibition in the Kastoria Municipal Booklet in Kastoria Kastoria Biblonus. 1967, in Galerie Syllogi 1978, Galerie Front 1996, Galerie des Beaux-Arts 1968 and Nicolas Poussin Les Andlys 1985, retrospective exhibition at L ‘UNESCO Paris 1993, in memory of my mother, retrospective exhibition of sculpture and painting under the auspices of the Greek Embassy, ​​Greek House Parisi Paris 2006.
