A unoccupied convent in Ipiranga receives works of art, old theater chairs, dancers, contortionists and singers. It is another edition of Kura, event project of the couple Kaue Foco and Fernanda Romão hosted in vacant places of the state capital.
Kura Zazz takes place on the 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th of this month, at the former headquarters of the Salesian sisters and former stands at São Marcos University. The space was assigned to the event organizers by the developer Alfa Realty, owner of the house, according to Foco.
For R $ 180, Kura offers guests a mix of party, staging, art exhibition and dance performance.

Each season of Kura’s experiences has its own theme and happens in a different place – and then never again. Other editions took place at the former Telesp Prredium in the central region, and in a tunnel part of a stretch of the Rodoanel.
In Kura Zazz, the plot is cabaret. “In the 1920s, the cabaret was a house of various types of artistic manifestations,” says Foco, who seeks this reference for the event. There will be reading poems, varied dances, staging and singing. “It’s a musical show,” he says.
The public is an essential part of the event. In addition to composing the atmosphere following the Dress Code – Roups of the 1920s – the guests interact with the artists. “Who comes is people who like art,” says the organizer, who has among the captive goers chef Olivier Anquier. Each night of Kura Zazz receives about 120 people.
Upon arrival, the public is received by a host that tells the history of the space where the event happens. Then the group goes to another environment that acts as an open dressing room of artists who will perform at night. There you can see the characters riding – which is also part of the staging.
There is still a while for the public to explore the place. In the two floors of the convent, there are rooms with art exhibitions. In the property pool region, there is a jam, music session in which guests can participate playing or singing with the artists.
After all this, there is still the main show. In the Convent Hall, 11 artists perform individually, among dance performances, contortionism and singing.
The ticket guarantees the show, but the food and drinks are sold separately and served by waiters during the shows. The creamy cheese board (R $ 45), the portion of dates wrapped in raw ham (R $ 45) and the American hamburger (R $ 42) are some of the options.
To drink, wine bowls cost $ 45 and bottles, $ 225. There are also drinks like Fitzgerald ($ 48) and what bears the name of the event, made of gin, lemon, Ramazzoti Amaro and Rosato ($ 48).
