The Alexandroupolis Public Prosecutor was taken in the morning of 13 Turkish arrested by police officers of the Northern Greece Organized Crime, on charges of carrying 147 pistols and 190 magazines, as well as accessories and weapons parts.
They were charged with a criminal prosecution and were referred to apologize to the investigator, from which they received a deadline for next week. Until their criminal treatment is decided, they remain in custody.
13 foreigners were arrested in the Soufli area, in Evrosafter the operation of the so -called Greek FBI which seems to have had information about their moves.
The detainees, seven men and six women, had crossed the Greek territory, crossing the Evros River earlier, while transporting the arsenal into bags.
Weapons are estimated, according to ELAS sources, that they would end up with members of their compatriots, inside and outside the Greek borders.
Reports indicate that the defendants have argued that the boat owner was indicated by a person they were due to deliver the cargo, whose content – as they said – did not know. They said they were intended to come to Greece to seek political asylum.
