An extremely rare lobster was caught by a fisherman off the coast of Massachusetts, causing the excitement. The unusual female lobster has a fancy “Calico” pattern – intense orange with black and yellow touches – like spots or freckles – and are terribly impressive
The chances of a Calico lobster being caught are believed to be only one in 30 million, according to local experts, who called the lobster Jackie.
Such an unusual pattern makes these lobster sought -after aquariums and Michelin star restaurants, but fortunately for Jackie, she was donated to the Northeastern University Center in Northeastern University in Nahant.

Jackie’s intense shades come from a unique mixture of chemicals, including Astaxanthin, which makes lobster red and pink shrimp.
“Normally, the lobsters we see are reddish, brown or a little greenish,” said Sierra Munoz, a science teacher in the center of Northeastern University.
“In Astako Calico, Astaxanthin is combined with other pigments and proteins in a truly unique way. It gives this truly rare type of stigma or freckles.”
The fireplace also has a subtle blue touch on its joints, thanks to the presence of the protein of crustaccanin.
This makes Calico lobster even rarer than the other “star” of the Marine Science Center, the blue lobster “Neptune”.
The chances of being caught one of them is about one in two million.
