The measure has been piloted as early as June 2025, providing businesses operating in the above sectors a reasonable time to adapt to new data.

During the approximately four months that have been elapsed since the start of the pilot period, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security made extensive dialogue with representatives Employees and employers of the above branches, on the application of the digital work card.

As noted in a related announcement, the digital work card is an important tool, which ensures that employees are paid for their real working time. Its implementation contributes to the fight against indicated and/or undeclared work, while protecting workers and healthy businesses from unfair competition.

The effectiveness of the measure is also confirmed by the latest official data of the ERGANI information system, according to which there is an increase in recorded overtime in its application sectors by 3.5 million hours in relation to the years before the measure is implemented.

This measure already protects 1,500,000 employees who employ banks, supermarkets, insurance companies, security companies, DEKO, industry, retailing, tourism and catering, and, after full implementation in wholesale, energy, financial and finance companies, workers.

At the same time, the total number of integrated companies will exceed 280,000 companies, approximately.
